The arp sound is very good, but as for house, the kick is the driving element unless you're just experimenting. For me, the kick, snares, all the percussion you're using sound too quiet but it's not bad - it has a nice groove. The rain isn't really too loud and suits the track well! You should make a jumpy bassline which would give this track a lot of texture and low end. :)

Midnights-Ocean responds:

yeah this is more ambient house than house. Honestly I'm not sure exactly what genre this falls into. I wanted a really nice laid back sound to the kick and percussion. Thanks for the feedback. it's hard to judge the levels of white noise like rain sometimes.

Now, first off, you need to learn music theory, there are so many videos on it. Just search it on youtube. The piano sounds muddy and the chords don't fit the melody at all:(! There are certain laws that make music sound good. If you practice music theory, you'll make awesome music with good harmonics that give people shivers :).

As for the drop, first half of the song, I can hear your true self, but when the drop hits, all I can hear are samples. For me, making music is all about being original, the first part was original but the second part wasn't. Also making a drop is all about building that tension, that excitement but it didn't give me that feeling of excitement.

Practice is the key here, look at different videos on youtube about music production. Listen to your favorite artists. Hopefully you take this review as a good one, keep making music and you'll get better and better. good luck :)!

thx for the review i have learnt a tiny bit about music im still kind of new to the music making scene i try my hardest and i accept your criticism

sounds like you're using nexus ;) The plucky bass supports the melody well but I think you need to distort or crush or design your sound more, to give it more of yourself. IMO sound design really matters here. That reverby kick you have, I feel like it doesn't fit. And you should play more with your hihats, change the volume and pan so it fills the room :). But overall the track didn't have any dissonances so you're good on that:P keep at it, good luck :)

ShareeBon responds:

Thanks for the generous FEEDBACK.

this has some serious head-nodding wobs, good design. Not sure how I feel about half tempo, gives me a dubstep vibe. Snare is on point. I think it would sound better when it's not half tempo, it does work but at least for me, dnb needs to be fast :D Keep at it, good wobs will get you far :) gl!

BiPolarBeat responds:

I tried to make it work with a normal 174 drums but that just didn't work with the "wobs"

Oh my... you need to finish this, the mix is very nice and when the loop hits, damn. I'll listen to this on repeat. Well done :)

The beginning was pretty good, but man, you need to work on those drums, the kick and hihat are too loud imo and the snare is too quiet. When making synthwave, snare needs to hit hard and have attitude :D. @2:00, hell yea, sounds real nice but still repetitive, change some notes out so your tracks have more progression. Nicely done, but could be better. Keep at it and you'll get good :)

BusanBlack responds:

Hey Geomeetria, first of all, thank you very much for your constructive criticism. I really appreciate it since I jumped into this track with a melody in my mind but still as a growing musician not fulling knowing how to make my sound feel full of life. I totally get where you're coming from with the repetitiveness of the tune. I need to work on note progression and figuring out how to advance it all to a new level. After listening to it again while reading your review I really did notice the hi-hat was really overpowering.

I'll keep all of this in mind when producing my next track, synthwave or other. Much love from one musician to another. Thank you.

Even for a rough mix it sound pretty good. Not sure how I like the vocal, maybe its too in front. If you can, put some reverb on it so it has some more space. I really really like the flow of this song, like it's telling a story of some sort. Good for animations I guess :)

Midnights-Ocean responds:

yes! thank you! I had similar thoughts about the vocal. though not much needs doing there. I thought it maybe could be blended with the background, just a little more. there's actually a lot of minor little details I want to tweak and fill in on this but like I said, it'll wait till I have my cheepass used gong I just bought, so I can replace the stock sound on the time keeping drum track. Thank you for the feedback. Yeah this would be great for a game or animation, if you are working on any or know of someone who needs music. :)

The mix sounds really quiet, I suggest compressing the drums and making em louder. In hip-hop drums have to be more in front. Overall I like the pad and crushed vocal, it makes this track sound lofi. This track lacks of bass, missing that groove. Still pretty nice, good luck :)

StaticLF responds:

Thanks bruh :)

The atmosphere is making me happy. The loop is nice but it lacks progression. Maybe next time make little changes in the melody or even in the bass line. The simple beat works well. good luck :)

Omg, that's beautiful. It feels so timeless.

not all audio that i post is finished or polished, many of them are raw. I have a bad habit of not finishing my projects. pm me if you're interested in collabing:)
