love your work, this lowfi feeling on the piano and bass is very nice. And those oldschool drums get me everytime. And that sax, please yes :D

Libby-Shimmz responds:

Thanks much!

Man, you've come far, your music has become better sounding, but a tip for mastering your future projects - it's better when the mix sounds quieter, right now all i can hear is overly loud wobs, but the elements aren't fighting over the frequencies so it's okay, that's great (that means your mixing and mastering is fine) :). But still it's always better to sound more quieter, because when somebody plays this on their speakers after a calm song, they're going to have an heart attack :D. When you post your next track, keep that in mind. Overall a 4/5, I don't listen to this kind of dubstep, but this track had some nice nuances to it :) goodluck

Falsesouth responds:

Hey, I've been referencing common dubstep artists in order to figure out the general gain the track should be. After some time, I decided that for the next tracks, I will lower that final boost a notch because it definitely could use a little more dynamic range. That seems to be the difference between my work and the top notch dubstep in terms of mastering.

After the past couple years, it makes me really happy to hear from you. Your feedback has been genuine and I really appreciate it.

Thank you so much!

I will be sure to make that adjustment in addition to stepping up my game with composition in general :D

Damn, I grew up listening omni trios renegade snares. I liked the fast paced amen but i feel like it's somewhat empty. Maybe consider layering some pads on those low strings. Also i think that you should use some distorted wobs to mix up the bass :D. When those hi-hats come in they all sound the same, play with their volumes and pan them around. overall a nice piece but it could be improved imo :)

Libby-Shimmz responds:

I appreciate the feedback Varv.

Yeah, I just realized that the hi-hats are a little too dry. I'll see if I can't spruce them up a bit before I release the EP proper.

Pretty emotional beat you have here :D But as for hiphop, the beat should be more in front, right now it too quiet imo. At 1:21 when the 808 hits is amazing, nice work. At 1:25 when the 808 switches tone, i feel like there's a bit of bass distortion, the higher and lower tones of the 808 seem to clash. but overall, good work :)

EdKempeper responds:

Hello ! Thanks a lot for this very constructive review !
Yeah, the beat is a bit "low", because when I made it, I tried to add vocal parts (but deleted it), so I focused on the pad and lead synth part.
Yes, there's a problem with the 808 : I used a sample and FL Granulizer, so when I switched tones, there was this "distortion" problem...
Thank you again for your review ! ;)

The drums sound a bit dull, they need to sound sharper. I can hear at 2:10 quite clearly, you don't have to cut out the high end of the spectrum. Also run the break through a compressor, make it banging :D overall a nice job, got my head nodding.

luce responds:

i lost this project years ago honestly, otherwise i'd probably do that lol thank you

Man, piano sounds amazing. That's a nice improvisation, maybe not the best quality, but I still listened all of it. good job :)

ChadWiggy responds:

Thanks! I'm recording onto my phone still.... cant figure out the midi transfer!!

It seems that the piano is clashing with itself or some other instrument. I suggest you look some vids on youtube about music theory, all the notes should be in the same scale, if they're not in the same scale you get distortion which can be good in some cases, but not right here. Maybe start off by listening to those piano chords, if the chords sound fine, check for other mistakes. good luck :)

5Dollar responds:

Very true, i'm just what you call a lazy and or bad musician lmao.

Edit: Also I sort of got it in key I guess

Love the vinyl crackling, beat has a nice flow to it, maybe shuffle those hihats from time to time :P nice work, next time add a bassline that compliments the string. overall, nice work :)

RabbitG responds:

thnx man)

Man this sounds beautiful, great work. Just gonna tuck this to my favorites for future sampling :P Good luck on your RPG and album.

viewtifulday responds:

Thanks man! The album finally got finished but it hasn't been uploaded anywhere as of yet. Gonna keep staying productive

That's a nice experiment, but you need to dedicate more time and love to your music, think your music through and then release it. Many of the sound were out of place. I suggest you google music theory and maybe search on youtube how to master and mix your tracks. And then you'll get better as time passes by. good luck :)

thVTA responds:

Yeah, i know. I'm trying to dedicate more time to learn hot to make my song!

not all audio that i post is finished or polished, many of them are raw. I have a bad habit of not finishing my projects. pm me if you're interested in collabing:)
